Father/ Son, Now Brothers

Past Master James M. Clark (right), presents his son James A. Clark his Master Mason's certificate after he raised him to the sublime degree of Master Mason on July 2, 2008. WB James was asked if he would sit in the East while the 2008 Master was on vacation. He did not pass that rare opportunity up. Knap of Reeds has 7  father son masons in the lodge now. Not only was this an exciting time in the Clark family but the day before Brother Andy had a new baby making WB Jim a new grandfather. What  great moments for them to share.

C.B.Anderson Annual Prayer Breakfast

Shortly after Ernie Mills started the Durham Rescue Mission 32 years ago, Bro. C. B. Anderson began a “men’s only” breakfast near Christmas each year. He begun by inviting a few friends and business associates. Following the meal, which he paid for, he passed the hat for the Rescue Mission. This amount has reached as much as $10,000 some years.

As time went on, the group got larger until it became a problem to find adequate space for the breakfast. A few years ago, he contacted lifelong friend, Bro. Wayne Watson, to ask if Knap of Reed’s Lodge #158 would be interested in holding the event at the lodge. The lodge agreed to prepare the food for the breakfast and have enjoyed participating. Here are  some of this year pictures.  This year was very successful.

Ernie Mills is shown receiving the donations from Brother C. B. Anderson.
